• Biotechnology : A general term combining biology and technology. Any practical application of biological science is considered biotechnology, especially inducing genetic engineering and recombinant DNA technology.
• Genetic engineering. The manipulation of genes, which are the functional units of heredity.
• Genetically modified organism.: Any living thing that has been altered at the genetic level. The organisms
are also referred to as transgenic.
