Role of contputational biology and biomatrics

Role of contputational biology and biomatrics:
Advances in computational biology and bioinIormatics has been remarkable in the last few decades that established large scale sequencing, structure and function determination, gene prediction, identification of regulatory elements, transposable sequences, specific landmarks on the genome as well as transcriptome, proteome and interactome analysis on strong foundations. Determination of megabase pair sequences as well
as geiwration and handling of database is a Herculean task for any genome sequencing process that can not be achieved manually. Annotation of genes, non coding regions or other conserved regions from the vas amount of database generated is again much more difficult and nearly impossible to screen manually. Numerous special softwares for database management. gene prediction, protein structure and function prediction and other purposes have been developed. Many of these are web based powerful data search and management engines that can be accessed to deposit and retrieve sequence information, structural
analysis, three dimensional configurations of the proteins translated by the gene sequence and comparative phvlogenctic analysis. Several other programmes are also available to studs’ DNA-protein and protean-protein interaction, mapping of genes to chromosomal locations, management of expressed sequence
tags (ESTs), in-silico synthesis of suitable primers for gene amplification, analysis and management of microarray data. integrating genome-phenome network as well as designing of tailor made recombinant molecules.
