William Gowers
William Gowers was one of the great
nineteenth-century British doctors brought the National Hospital in
Queen Square international prominence. More gifted visual
interpretations written descriptions, Gowers offer one of the most
memorable descriptions of parkinsonian tremor:
"The movement of the finger
metacarpophalangeal joints phalyngeal is similar to that for which the
Orientals beat their small drums."
